Media: Promotional Discs [プロモディスク]

There have been many entries across the series that have video media attached to them; asides from the obvious live action and CG movie sides of the franchise, there were a fair few promotional VHS tapes and DVDs. But beyond that when it comes to promotional Biohazard game videos there were Playstation demos across the world with special video previews on discs, and stores in Japan often had promotional discs pressed for running a special Attract Mode in regards to the games, all the way up to the Gamecube era.

It is those aforementioned formats which are catalogued here; promotional video items released on console mediums (yes, including DVD or Bluray for later generation consoles.) This includes things such as video-only demo discs, or store PV discs that loop for displays.

This does not include demo discs that have playable demos or alpha/beta builds -- those are on the Demo & Promotional games page.

Title: Biohazard 7 Resident Evil Gold Edition Grotesque Version Promotional Movie DVD (バイオハザード7 レジデントイービル ゴールドエディシン グロテスクバーション プロモーション映像DVD) [PV02]
Catalogue: N/A
Released: 11/2017
Retail: Not For Sale
Region: NTSC-J
Scans: Disc

Information:
This retailer disc was distributed to stockists to promote the Gold Edition of Biohazard 7, which more or less was a 'complete version' package featuring the game in addition to all of its DLC in one handy pacakge. In particular this is the Grotesque version - the adult rated CERO Z release with minimal censoring compared to the standard retail. The DVD has a loop cycle so it can just replay on a shop TV over and over after going through the two disc-exclusive trailers alongside the product showcase slides telling you what you get in the box. Pretty neat piece of advertising history!
