Books: Doujinshi [同人誌] - Page 1

Doujinshi are fan-made and fan-printed comics in Japan, usually done by artists, aspiring manga-ka or even by published manga-ka as a fun way of keeping touch with the fandom and drawing about the series and characters they love. You can usually find doujinshi made for many fandoms in Japan, and Biohazard is no exception.

I tend to stick to games from the series I really enjoy, particular circles (Round Scope, B-STING, etc.,) and focus pieces on favourite characters or 'all-chara' books. Although doujinshi are considered an unofficial/fan-made article, and would normally be catalogued with my other custom items, they are catalogued on their own page due to the sheer number of them.

I also have a rule when it comes to doujinshi: I prefer to avoid the adult or R-18 oriented ones as they are more often than not purely porn or hentai filled. Like any fandom, Biohazard has a big adult-art scene in Japan, which easily is over half of the major posts on places like Pixiv, or in circles even to this day for publishing. So instead, I have accumulated a lot of action/comedy/storytelling/slice of life/gag style comics.

They're kind of like a time-capsule of the Japanese fandom, with a lot of recurring gags across various circles crossing over because it was the 'in' thing back when those games or that part of the story was out.

Regarding the scanning and translation of doujinshi (scanslations): though we aim to give a synopsis of the contents of each book, along with scans of their covers and where allowed a sample page, Viperhazard does not condone or partake in the act of sharing entire scans of doujinshi online. I also deeply respect the wishes of artists who explicitly state that their work not be distributed/reproduced, and only will scan the cover of those books for identification needs and no sample page.

Title: Fright Night (フライト ナイト) [DJ01]
Circle: DOG HOUSE
Released: 04/08/1996
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Tank controls strike as Jill struggles to run through areas and open doors to try get Richard the serum -- and takes a shower and a nap enroute. This comedic retelling of the first game is rather fun, and has a lot of small visual pun gags as well as poking fun at things like the attract mode demo of the game where Chris pushes the stepladder over to the statue, climbs up it, then goes back down it without taking the map.

The doujin ultimately ends with Jill blowing up Chris and Barry for taking their sweet time to get up the elevator leaving her to deal with the Tyrant. I rather like this doujin, not only is it the earliest one I have in the history of the fandom, but DOG HOUSE ended up publishing a lot of works over the years and all of them are charming and fun gag doujin.

Title: Sleepwalker Road (離魂道) [DJ02]
Circle: Recondo
Released: 20/04/1997
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
A rare, old 1997 doujinshi. For the most part, it’s quite serious, dealing with character relations, and even has Jill contemplating shooting herself after being bitten by a zombie, and Rebecca reading the diary of a girl going progressively mad from infection.

It does have some fantastic gag pages, such as Barry freaking out in English over a plate of sandwiches while screaming Jill’s name (a play on the series long gag of “almost a Jill-filled sandwich”,) and Chris dying in-game because he tipped the mixed herb paper upside down in the check screen. It needs the comedic breaks because they give a breather between some very heavy stories.

Interestingly, the circle Recondo is actually Yoshihiro Togashi working solo in the fandom. He is most notable for having created YuYu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter and as the husband of Naoko Takeuchi of Sailor Moon fame.

Title: NIGHT Stalker [DJ03]
Circle: DOG HOUSE
Released: 15/08/1997
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Jill and Rebecca meet up instead of Rebecca and Chris, and Wesker finds his plans getting fast thwarted by the dynamic duo. Chris, upon reuniting with Jill, insists that because they are Americans they should have a sweet hollywood style reunion complete with a romantic kiss and asks her to enter the cell again. She blows him up.

This doujin also features a guest story that the DOG HOUSE team illustrated, dealing with Rebecca as she has to see her team-mates die over the course of events and how it affects her when she reunites with the survivors of Alpha. It's pretty sweet, even with the sadder undertone compared to the comedy pieces earlier.

Title: Powerful Fleeting People (強く儚い者たち) [DJ04]
Circle: Tsushima Paperback (津島文庫)
Released: 29/03/1998
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Though it has some serious undertones in areas due to the scenes it's retracing from Biohazard 2, a lot of this features gags or plays on very specific personality traits the characters have which absolutely floor the others every time they come up. Only a small doujin, clocking in at only 18 pages all up.

Title: Gatling Warning (ガトリング警報) [DJ05]
Circle: Tenrindou Side-S (天淋堂 SIDE-S)
Released: 04/01/1998
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Gatling Warning is an entire retelling of Bio 2's canon story of Claire A-Leon B with a comedic twist and adorable art, all squeezed into just over 30 pages. It even has a few Bio 1 4-Koma shorts! Heaps of fun overall. Tenrindou was pretty popular in the fandom during the time they published works, with a website that often had heaps of artwork they did out of love for the series that didn't get printed into their doujin materials. Sadly a lot of them are gone in the aether these days, with not a lot of them coming up on the internet archive, so it's nice to have printed history for them.

Title: SURVIVAL NIGHT [DJ06]
Circle: DOG HOUSE
Released: 04/05/1998
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Leon barely makes it to the station on behalf of tank controls, even having to pause to consider the manual, leaving him hardly impressed when Marvin wants to kick him out of the east wing office. Claire finds memos from some of the officers talking about the rookie Leon and how excited they are to meet him, including hoping he's hot. Meanwhile, Leon tries to get the computer in the lab working but upon finding it needs a second finger print he goes for a less-than-favourable option of attempting to utilise Annette's after her passing.

Sherry tells him right off.

Title: Biohazard REPLICA (バイオハザードレプリカ) [DJ07]
Circle: Keishi Nagare
Released: 14/06/1998
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
REPLICA features two major stories – the first covers the strong friendship of Chris and Jill when she discovers him imprisoned in the Arklay Laboratory, complete with flashbacks to their first time working together. While mostly a serious story, there are some hilarious gags thrown in to lighten it up such as Tyrant gurgling that Chris left his underwear behind while holding it up on its claws as they escape.

The second is Biohazard 2 focused and deals mostly with Claire, Sherry, and Ada all picking on a very whiny, clingy Leon for anything and everything.

Even Tofu makes an appearance… only to be hammer-squashed to pieces by the T-103.

Title: Cubic Horror - BIO HAZARD Alone in the Cruel Night [DJ08]
Circle: Burosu (ブロス)
Released: 13/08/1998
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Cubic Horror is another Bio 1 cross 2 doujin, with two set stories that are full of gags and fun. The first involves Jill trying to work her way up the ranks of S.T.A.R.S. while they look for a new team member -- it even includes a Hunter being interviewed! The second is all about how poor rookie cop Leon is ignored, the whole time, by everyone in Bio 2. I love this one; lots of funny moments and cute art.

Title: BIOHAZARD [DJ09]
Circle: H.S.G
Released: 13/08/1998
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Lickers terrify Claire, until she goes to the item chest and pulls all her infinite ammo weapons out and unleashes hell. Leon keeps having to go back for Ada because she stops and sits down when he gets too far away, and when he's in desperate need for health he trips and dies by hitting his head against a desk. H.S.G's Biohazard doujin is full of fun gags taking place during the events of Biohazard 2.

Hazuki Shinobu is a published shoujo mangaka, with works like Genyou, Youma no Fuuin, Twin Cross, and Rekka Fumuden under her belt. She hasn't published works in quite a long time, and according to her bio on her Syosetu page she has issues with numbness/nerve damage in her arm which is preventing her drawing like she used to. This is one of her most "recent" releases.

Title: S.T.A.R.S. Survival Manual DX [DJ10]
Circle: Round Scope
Released: 14/08/1998
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
This is a nice collection doujinshi, collating Survival Manual releases 1 through 5 — given some of the older early releases from Round Scope are harder to come by it is a great piece to snap up to be able to enjoy them. It's quite hefty!

Title: G-SHOCK [DJ011]
Circle: Kanazawa Printing (金沢印刷様)
Released: 15/09/1998
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
With the exception of the last story, where Leon mourns over killing a lady zombie, most of this little 26 page doujin is full of gags -- mostly revolving around Claire outranking Leon so hard she has unlocked all the secret/EX weapons and turns into the ultimate BOW killer. It even has an Alien gag with Sherry and the G-Creature, and Claire taking potshots at Annette and Wesker.

Title: FINAL PLAY [DJ12]
Circle: GODAP
Released: xx/11/1998
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
The first few pages have Sherry going hand to hand against Mr. X and absolutely wrecking it -- I think that says a lot about this one. It also has her giving the Tyrant her pendant and that breaking a curse, turning it into a fair maiden, Marvin following Leon and giving him pointers, and Tofu meeting Hunk and saving them. It's a wild ride.

Title: BIOHAZARD 2 (-1) [DJ13]
Circle: Mitsudo Ball (三井堂玉)
Released: 29/12/1998
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
"Wait, don't shoot!"
"Get down!"

Leon fires, and hits Claire who failed to duck in time while the zombie did. The opening gag starts us off on a surreal and hilarious journey - it's very Japanese in its humour, lending to a lot of slapstick and fun exaggerated expressions. A relatively small doujin but a fun one nonetheless.

Title: Silver Gun & Survival Life [DJ14]
Circle: Burosu (ブロス)
Released: 30/12/1998
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Wildman Chris Redfield mortifies Rebecca by eating the adders that drop out of the trees in the courtyard, Captain Wesker isn't feeling the love as all the teammates of Alpha leave cute notes for each other, Leon tries to woo Ada, and Claire discovers Sherry is a bit of a handful. All gags, lots of fun.

Title: THUNDERBOLT [DJ15]
Circle: B-STING
Released: 30/12/1998
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Grail: attained!

B-Sting’s third foray into the world of Survival Horror comes in the form of another Biohazard 2 themed doujinshi. Much like their prior two releases (Guns, Phenomenon - later combined into Extra Guns in 1999) the stories vary from heavy comedy to much more serious pieces and are evenly spaced out to make the entire book great to read.

Marvin discovers that it’s Leon’s birthday and proceeds to not just tell the entire precinct but the entire city, with poor Leon left in a stupor as they roll down the main street in an RPD SUV to a parade for the rookie. Sherry comes across Cody (Final Fight) beating up zombies hand to hand and Claire doesn’t believe her when she relays the event.

Amidst the 4koma shorts is a more serious side-story based around Sherry as she wanders alone trying to evade the undead - when she gets grabbed by a zombie and she thinks it’s her end, she’s saved by another zombie who bites through the throat of the enemy zombie to take off its head. The zombie carefully speaks, only just holding onto its last shred of humanity, and its then that Sherry recognises him – one of her fellow senior classmates who often helped her study.

As he urges her to run away he pulls a gun and decides to end his life before he fully succumbs to the virus, wanting to die a human who did good in the end.

Title: CUSTOMIZE [DJ16]
Circle: Raccoon Vigilante (ラクーン自警団)
Released: 03/05/1999
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
For as serious as the covers make out, CUSTOMIZE is mostly poking fun at our Biohazard 2 protagonists, with a majority of the first story dedicated to, well, customisation. Of the EX-Outfits variety. There's a spoof about House of the Dead re: the G-Virus and Jill joining in on the Biohazard 2 fun, and even G1 William trying his hardest to get a bento lunch to Sherry because she left home without it.

Title: Stalker's High [DJ17]
Circle: LAST ESCAPE
Released: 13/08/1999
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
This one has been a favourite of mine for years. From Jill having a running contest against Nemesis, to zombies thinking she and Carlos are getting hot and steamy in the chapel when she's groaning in pain from infection, to her being a cat burglar and pilfering all of Carlos' goods outside the gas station and running off while he screams after her that he's not dead.

Heaps of gags -- one of my most adored being the poor Hunter Gamma expiring in the aqua tube behind Carlos (who doesn't notice it) after he's drained the water. Definitely one to pick up.

Title: S.T.A.R.S. Survival Manual 9 [DJ18]
Circle: Round Scope
Released: 13/08/1999
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Survival 9 opens with a comic about the Biohazard Midnight Party fan event the mangaka went to, leading to a 3koma on the exact types of Leon you can find in the world: the angsty cosplay Leon, the very cool non-canon Leon, and the Renfro Leon (ala the CM for Biohazard 2 at the time.) Survival 9 has another chapter in the Enricohazard miniseries, before diving into a pretty serious and... really rather depression comic from Sherry's point of view, dealing with how she's always sought the validation and love of her parents.

She finds that validation with Claire, feeling like a piece of the puzzle complete in her life for meeting her despite the hellish circumstances that lead to it.

Title: fall into a "PITFALL" [DJ19]
Circle: Kuriei Company (くりえい社)
Released: 21/08/1999
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Plant 43 keeps growing in planters and pots in place of herbs -- much to everyone's annoyance. Dogs steal herbs before Leon can get to them, Sherry tackles a poor Licker, Claire lasso's one, and Leon is getting no luck from Ada. Pitfall also has a cute end comic where Rebecca creates a chemical compound in lieu of V-Jolt that she throws against the wall... and Chris grows out of it.

Hilarious -- and the right side of weird that is very Japanese.

Title: Hot Berry (ホットベリー) [DJ20]
Circle: Tenrindou Side-S (天淋堂 SIDE-S)
Released: 14/11/1999
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
"Hey Claire, meet my new friend!" says Leon, who presents a zombiefied Marvin. The gag is repeated again on the last page, with Claire introducing to Leon her new friend too -- zombie Brad. Hot Berry is cute and full of a lot of female-cast focused pieces, all of them either cute or funny. I've always enjoyed Side-S doujin for their style and humour, and this one hits all the right notes.

Title: Manly Knife Clear 8 (男ならナイフクリア8) [DJ21]
Circle: Mosquito&Magnolia
Released: 24/12/1999
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
A mostly Bio 3 themed book, with some touches on 2. It has Leon terrifying Chief Irons with his extreme passion, along with Jill and Claire making a voodoo doll of Chris for him constantly going missing. My favourite gag is where Nemesis runs away horrified from Jill when she decides that one of his neck tentacles would make a great hose for the hydrant.

Title: EXTRA GUNS [DJ22]
Circle: B-STING
Released: 24/12/1999
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Grail: attained!

A compilation manga, clocking in at a hefty 70 pages, which combines the first two books (Guns, Phenomenon) ever released by Mahiro Nouno under his B-STING handle, and also features additional guest illustrations.

Extra Guns features a comedic twist on a majority of its stories, much like other later B-Sting releases, such as Sherry running into her mutated father who gives her pointers on PPE and workplace safety in the sewers before wishing her good luck as he departs, Claire witnessing a wrestling match between Mike Haggar (Final Fight) and the T-103, and many comedic 4-Koma including Sherry interrupting a ‘romantic moment’ in the elevator with Leon and Ada who only notice her there when she whispers 「にやり」inappropriately at them.

Lots of stellar art and good laughs throughout, with the comedic pacing padding out some of the heavier stories contained within.

Title: S.T.A.R.S. Survival Manual 10 [DJ23]
Circle: Round Scope
Released: 24/12/1999
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Enricohazard is replaced with Carloshazard in this issue which covers a lot of Biohazard 3 content.

Survivor 10's main story looks at Jill during the start of the outbreak in Raccoon, with her mostly not coping post events of the mansion. She even visits Robert Kendo, who makes sure she's got her samurai edge with things turning sour. She cuts her hair, collects what resources she can, accepts the finality that she has lost friends now in the outbreak and decides its time to try make her Last Escape.

Title: The Call of VERONICA (ベロニカが呼んでいる) [DJ24]
Circle: DOG HOUSE
Released: 01/04/2000
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Poor Rodrigo, so confused as to how Claire has a lighter after 10 days of incarceration. Full of puns, 4-Koma, and great moments like Claire stripping completely bare to get through the awful metal detector and it still going off due to a filling in her teeth. Very lighthearted and funny.

Title: Urgency Avoid!!! (緊急回避発動!!!) [DJ25]
Circle: Tenrindou Side-S (天淋堂 SIDE-S)
Released: 29/04/2000
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
I remember eons and eons ago in the days of early Biohazard fandom on the internet, I used to frequent the lead Side-S artist's website and admiring the cover art of Jill for this. Never thought I'd get the actual doujin in hand back then, when I could only just read a small smattering of hiragana. One of the best gags in this Bio 3 only book involves Jill having to manually power the rail cannon to take out Nemesis, and she comes out victorious, complete with amazingly over-exaggerated expressions.

Title: S.T.A.R.S. Survival Manual 11 [DJ26]
Circle: Round Scope
Released: 04/05/2000
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
The 11th volume of the Survival Manual series has a CODE: Veronica focus, with a big main story called 'Future Design: Dream Kingdom' which follows young Alexia and Alfred during Alexia's prime with viral research. Really interesting and in-depth -- very in-canon in how it's written too, complete with the twins finding out the truth of their dynasty.

Title: Fade Out [DJ27]
Circle: VESPER
Released: 04/05/2000
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Fade Out is a mixed bag -- a good mixed bag, but it's sort of like Sleepwalker Road in that it's got a fairly large amount of gags padding out a much more serious and pretty dark story in one section.

Nestled after 4-koma of hilarious before and after pictures of certain characters, we see Jill going through a mental crisis during the Bio 3 scenario, ending ultimately on a big downer that strengthens her resolve to abolish Umbrella fully. Very full on, but the starting gag pages and end gag with Steve touting a Typing of the Dead Dreamcast pack do help soften the blow.

Title: Zombie Complex [DJ28]
Circle: DOG HOUSE
Released: 12/8/2000
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Chris drops his pack on the climb up to Rockfort, and we see the Rocket Launcher and other unlimited ammo weapons he'd borrowed from Jill sinking into the sea. Claire assumes she can reach Leon with the simple email LEON@police.com and ends up with him freaking out while in protective custody for receiving outside-contact. Zombie Complex has a lot of fun gag art and jokes all 'round about CV, and is a favourite of mine for the style of it all.

Title: CATASTROPHIC VERONICA GENE [DJ29]
Circle: B-STING
Released: 12/8/2000
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Grail: attained!

'If I'm going to get that S Rank Clear...' Chris muses to himself, stripping down to nothing for the sake of speed and to terrorise the poor hunters who come to the alerts from the spy drones but are too intimidated by his muscles. Some of Rockfort's finest torture options include preparing a full sushi meal with the finest chefs and Alfred eating it in front of the prisoner, Chris gets axed in the back by Alexia for littering in her ant mound room (specifically with a cigarette butt at that,) and then he gets stuck trying to solve a puzzle because it involves a rubik's cube.

Catastrophic Veronica Gene is just a lot of fun, with an entire mid-section full of many 4koma, including an officiant dealing with the marriage of two T-102 units, and Chris wondering what the Hunters that are buzzed in by the drones do in their spare time since they're otherwise never actually near-by until he trips one of the traps.

The last story is a gag Mercenaries take on the Battle Game, and when Wesker opens the door to a room filled with zombies Claire, Chris, and Steve all freak out thinking its the end. Until Wesker uses his ultimate attack: the Hyper Power Wesker Beam. Hilariously... the beam became pseudo-canon over a decade later.

Title: Biohazard Seasonal Vol.5 (バイオハザード 春夏秋冬 vol.5) [DJ30]
Circle: Harimaya
Released: 24/06/2001
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Probably one of the few more explicit ones I own -- and it's played completely for a gag. The UBCS soldiers get a little too carried away thinking about a naked Jill (complete with full-frontal nudity), which results in her torching them all by blowing up the cable car. Jill hasn't got time to be objectified! The other two stories featured include the mishaps of Chris and Rebecca trying to take on Plant 42, with poor Chris going on a bit of a carnival ride from hell with it, and then an extended repeat of the first gag -- this time based on The Mercenaries.

The drunkard USBC members once again get too excited thinking about Jill in various costumes -- it ends ultimately with The Boss character blowing up the cable car, Jill bitterly exclaiming "... Men."

I super love the art-style of Harimaya group, so it's a treat the whole way through.

Title: VERONICA METHODOLOGY [DJ31]
Circle: B-STING
Released: 10/08/2001
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Grail: attained!

Veronica Methodology is B-Sting’s CODE:Veronica Complete focused manga, and following previous releases it holds a comedic tone for a majority of the stories contained within.

Amongst the myriad of 4koma is a more serious story where Steve’s dying memories are of the times he was happy with his family, with Wesker’s henchmen being disturbed that he’s just a kid as they wrap up his body to take away. Thank gods there is a lot of comedy to balance it out, including:

Claire, after slapping some sense into Steve about running ahead without her, pincer a Bandersnatcher to pull its hyper-flexible arm beyond its limit. Chris discovers a cute cook kitchen gadget randomly in a hallway, and learns upon turning it to face him is a trip sensor leading him to be assailed by one of Wesker’s hunters. The giant spider gets blown up only to show its abdomen was full of Sony products, including the PS2 on which they were about to be poorly ported to.

And poor Alfred, attempting to execute a traitor but finding his aim at nearly point blank with a pistol is so poor he can’t hit him – much to the amusement of the other Umbrella staff.

As with all other B-Sting releases, the art is stellar.

Title: S.T.A.R.S. Survival Manual 13 [DJ32]
Circle: Round Scope
Released: 10/08/2001
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Survival 13 continues with some of its traditional -hazard style gag comics, but its central focus piece is a really interesting look into events post Biohazard 3, with Barry getting Jill and Carlos onto the airbase where an old airforce friend is the commander which was how he was able to get a chopper to get her out of Raccoon. As Jill finds herself self-isolating, particularly in needing to do a medical for ongoing base clearance thanks to the trauma of the events combined with having an all-too-close dash with a virus thanks to Nemesis, Carlos starts to talk to Barry about what happened.

While Barry is initially weary once he hears Carlos was once part of Umbrella's UBCS, he gives him an open ear. They both resolve in the end to protect one another along with those they care for, Barry respecting him for sticking with Jill through the thick of it all.

Title: S.T.A.R.S. Survival Manual 14 [DJ33]
Circle: Round Scope
Released: 10/08/2001
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
The 14th entry in a long-running series from Round Scope, Survival Manual 14 brings us two wildly different stories in its 38 pages.

We've got a long addition to the Enricohazard series, wherein Barry goes and enlists the help of Robert Kendo to deal with Enrico, who decided that having a drinking contest with Chris was a good idea (it wasn’t.) The rest of Alpha and Bravo team all have to deal with Enrico in turn and it results in Kendo finalising Enrico’s model of Samurai Edge with a pink S.T.A.R.S. emblem in revenge for the trouble caused.

The second is a lot more heavy-handed. A CODE: Veronica focus piece from Steve’s perspective as he awakens in Alexia’s grasp as her new play-thing for experimentation. As his mind is warped from the infection he sees visions of Claire and their time together through their escape, leading him to rescue her from the Veronica Plant instead of killing her due to his love for her.

As he fades while she is crying over him, he thinks that things’ll be okay as they’ll go to Hawaii where he won’t feel so cold anymore.

Title: S.T.A.R.S. Survival Manual DX2 [DJ34]
Circle: Round Scope
Released: 10/08/2001
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Much like the first deluxe collection, the Survival Manual DX2 collates releases 6 through 12 into a single volume. Also another easy way to get ones hands on the releases as individual doujinshi become harder to come across.

Title: S.T.A.R.S. Survival Manual 15 [DJ35]
Circle: Round Scope
Released: 29/12/2001
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Survival 15's main story looks at Ada, and in particular how she survived the ordeals of Biohazard 2 with thanks to Wesker's part in it. As the lab descends into chaos from the self-destruct, they both witness the T-103 survive the molten bath it had by having a critical V-ACT. Wesker rejoices in seeing such a spectacular mutation, but Ada knows exactly where that thing is headed and decides that escaping can wait -- she has to make sure Leon gets out safe, and ensures he gets the Rocket Launcher.

Title: S.T.A.R.S. Survival Manual 16 [DJ36]
Circle: Round Scope
Released: 10/08/2002
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Survival 16 swings hard and heavy with its main story, dealing with Jill's memories of her colleagues in S.T.A.R.S. before the Mansion Incident. She is hit particularly hard with the loss of Forest, who did a lot of training with her and they often hung out outside of work, and ends up saluting his weapon she acquired after finding his corpse as a send-off when she feels she's got the strength to go on.

Title: JUDGEMENT NIGHT [DJ37]
Circle: DOG HOUSE
Released: 10/08/2002
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
"Barry's Investigation Corner" - Jill comes back to the dining room multiple times over 3 hours but Barry is still there, just examining the blood non-stop. Despite being a gamecube-era Biohazard 1 focus comic, it does take some fun from its 1996 predecessor in the form of Barry's fantastic excitement on finding certain items he thinks are super important. Judgement Night is a smaller book but it has a lot of great art and fun.

Title: Midnight Resurrection [DJ38]
Circle: B-STING
Released: 29/12/2002
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
B-Sting is my favourite circle -- not only do they have an extremely professional-grade art style that is consistent the entire way through, but they've got the right mix of comedy. Midnight Resurrection covers a massive amount of subjects, and even has an entire few pages dedicated to 4-Koma style mini comics, including Rebecca decorating zombies to look like drunk university students and Jill taunting Cerberii to the point one pees on a herb through the fence.

There is a serious story in the last section, which deals with two Arklay scientists heatedly beginning to disagree over the ethics and treatment of the whole Lisa Trevor situation, including the experimentation. It's not a pretty end for one of them.

Amazing art through and through -- a big recommend from me and thankfully one of their easier releases to obtain.

Title: S.T.A.R.S. Survival Manual 17 [DJ39]
Circle: Round Scope
Released: 29/12/2002
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
Chris survives a Cerberus attack thanks to Wesker, so they team up to better survey the mansion and all of its rooms. Chris suspects nothing, even with Wesker seeming to know all the solutions to the puzzles, keeping his back covered from zombies and other BOW as they trek into the lab... and into the holding cells where Wesker traps Chris. A humorous look into how things could've lead to one of the alpha team being imprisoned.

Title: Assault! Next Happy Trigger (突撃!となりのハッピートリガー) [DJ40]
Circle: All-Natural House G (総天然舎 G)
Released: 12/08/2003
Scans: Front Cover | Back Cover | Sample Page

Information:
The only Gun Survivor 4 doujinshi, quite possibly ever.
Features Bruce McGivern and Fonling dressing up fancily to suit the cruise ship. Poor Ark tries to socialise with some of the other characters in the series but they don't know who he is — as Leon, his supposed best friend, had failed to tell them about him.

Poor Ark.

The final gag is about how the Hypnos Tyrant from Survivor, more or less, can't sit with the lady tyrants of the series.
