Other: Official Items

This section is mainly for items which don't fit into any other category I have. Basically, if it's not a game, book, flat article, or figure, it'll be here! Mostly this is for items which are too hard to categorise as one type of thing, and/or are very niche for what they are.

If you'd like to find a specific item quickly, please utilise the code issued by the item's name in the index by searching for it with ctrl+f in your browser.

Index:

Title: BioHazard 2 Bullet Keychain (バイオハザード2特製弾丸キーホルダー) [OI01]
Released: 1998
Retail: Not For Sale

Information:
A surprisingly rare little trinket. This was a pre-order bonus given away to customers who pre-ordered BioHazard 2. It's a proper, solid metal keychain that weighs 18 grams. I'm quite lucky to have two in my possession, one which was purchased, the other given to me as a gift from Kefka that was sent with the Infants music box.

Title: BioHazard CODE:Veronica Let Me Live Plaque (バイオハザードコード:ベロニカ「Let Me Live」記念碑) [OI02]
Released: 2000
Retail: Not For Sale

Information:
Another surprisingly rare little trinket. This was a pre-order bonus given away to customers who pre-ordered CODE:Veronica on the Dreamcast. There are two versions that are in circulation: the ones done solely for game pre-orders which have a limited number issued in the box it comes in, or the version given away with the special Veronica Model Dreamcasts [HA01] which has no unique ID in the box as they share the limited issue of the consoles in question.

One side is embellished with Claire's Let Me Live logo and moniker, while the back has her Rockfort Island prison ID stamped into it: WKD4496. Surprisingly weighty, too.

Title: BioHazard CODE:Veronica Infants Music Box (バイオハザードコード:ベロニカ オルゴールアシュフォード) [OI03]
Released: 2000
Retail: Unknown/Not For Sale

Information:
I'd never expected to ever own this. It's what I had considered my Holy Grail of BioHazard collecting, after searching for it for a good 8 years. It was through a combination of good timing and love that I acquired mine. chariflame IM'ed me one morning saying she'd found it while searching for some rare Metal Gear Solid stuff from the same seller, and I reached out to organise finances -- then it was confirmed mine.

From what little information I have from books and other things, this was released in 2000 as a commemorative piece for the 5th Anniversary as well as the release of CODE:Veronica in Japan in collaboration with J.T.O Japan (who manufactured it.) It doesn't seem to have been sold in stores, so was likely either a mail-in purchase, or a competition item. We also know there are very few of them in the world. I know I'm certainly the only one in the Southern Hemisphere with one.

While the music box plaque says it's playing 'Infants', it's really playing a track called 'Ashford's Music Box'. This track was exclusive to the Complete Soundtrack released in 2001 under the name 'オルゴールアシュフォード邸バージョン', which translates to 'Ashford's Orgel Residence Version' (Orgel being the Dutch word for Music Box). This track is a shortened loop of Infants that is played when in Alfred and Alexia's bedrooms in the Private Residence. You can view a video I made of the music box in action here.

This is truly an amazing item to have, and I urge any BioHazard/Resident Evil collector to try and get one if they show up.

Title: Biohazard 5th Anniversary Special Package 'Nightmare Returns' (バイオハザード5周年記念スペシャルパッケージ「ナイトメア リターンズ」) [OI04]
Released: 22/03/2001
Retail: 28,000円

Information:
07699/10000 -- the limited number my case has. Never thought I'd get a chance to own this, and yet here we are. Scored this via trawling Yahoo Japan during new years and the big clean outs that often happen as a result of the new year, and all due to the fact it has a small hole in the handle that can easily be epoxy resin filled/painted/sanded it came to me at under $100.

Complete.

The Nightmare Returns package is a centrepiece in itself -- modelled after the duralumin case from CODE: Veronica, embellished with a special crow + eye heraldry for the anniversary. The case opens up to reveal a pocket with stunning reprints of the Playstation-era game manuals in a thick non-gloss stock, a special pen, dog tag with the serial ID printed on it, ring, coin, and keychain.

In the bottom half of the case there is another collective of goods: a special game case with new press release of Biohazard 1-3 (complete with new screen printing on the discs unique to the 5th anniversary), a copy of CODE: Veronica Complete for PS2, and the Wesker's Report DVD. A stunning item that is a must-have if you can find it at an affordable price. Thankfully with 10,000 of them made they aren't awfully rare, but that doesn't stop people from price gouging.

It's hard to categorise this item - it has parts that go across all areas, but the main components are best seen here. You can see the games in more detail over at here [PS12] and here [PS01].

Title: BioHazard 4 Metal Gun Collection Hand Gun (メタルガンコレクションハンドガン) [OI05]
Released: 2005
Retail: Not For Sale

Information:
These are a really neat promotional item given away with copies of the PS2 release of BioHazard 4 in Japan. There were four in the series, the Hand Gun, Black Tail, Red 9 and the Magnum. All are made of die-cast metal and have moving or removable parts. These are technically the only guns made for BioHazard I can legally have in Australia since I don't own a fire-arms license to import the air soft replicas. The Hand Gun features a plastic ammo clip which can be loaded and unloaded.

Title: BioHazard 4 Metal Gun Collection Red9 (メタルガンコレクションレッド9) [OI06]
Released: 2005
Retail: Not For Sale

The Red9 features 7 bullets which can be loaded into the main barrel.

Title: Darkside Chronicles Bullet Charm Strap (バイオハザード銃弾型チャーム付き合皮ストラップ) [OI08]
Released: 2010
Retail: Not For Sale

Information:
This nifty charm strap is a throw-back to the BioHazard 2 strap from 1998, and was given away only with e-Capcom orders of Darkside Chronicles Special Edition. The bullet is actually a replica of Annette's Anti-BOW one from the Memories of a Lost City scenario with BIOHAZARD stamped on it, and is surprisingly heavy. While it's listed as a Not For Sale, e-Capcom did sell the straps on their website for one week for a whopping 4,500円 individually. Thank goodness mine came with my game.
