Flats: Phone Cards [テレカ]

Fun fact: Japan loves making limited edition Phone Cards. They are everywhere, for just about everything. They make quite the quirky and odd collectable, and some of them actually can fetch quite high prices due to rarity and limited availability. Some of them come with special holofoils, some are just glossy and gorgeous. While a lot of them feature stock art, there are a fair few out there with unique design and layout: for example, there is a card from 1996/7 which is done up like Jill Valentine's S.T.A.R.S. ID card. These are a quirkier collection for me, and a weakness since I have an affinity for shiny, flat objects.

Title: Biohazard 2 Phone Card Akihabara Show Room Version (バイオハザード2テレカ秋葉原Ver.) [TC01]
Released:1998
Retail: Not For Sale
Scans: Front

Information:
Not 100% sure on the origins of this one, but it was more than likely given away when Biohazard 2 made its debut on the Akihabara Showroom in 1998, making this probably the oldest of the Biohazard 2 phone cards. Unlike it's standard NTT retail version released later that same year, this feature the RPD logo, in addition to mentioning the Akihabara Showroom.

Title: Biohazard 2 Phone Card (バイオハザード2テレカ) [TC02]
Released:1998
Retail: 1,000円
Scans: Front

Information:
One of the few NTT phone cards that was actually for sale, not given away as a promotional good! It's the same artwork and style of the Akihabara version, just missing the special logos.

Title: Biohazard 2 Phone Card Famitsu Limited Version (バイオハザード2テレカファミ通Ver.) [TC03]
Released:1998
Retail: Not For Sale
Scans: Front

Information:
Given away by Famitsu, this limited edition phone card sports a gorgeous gold border, a limited edition number, and the final publicity CG render used to promote Biohazard 2. This was acquired with help from denkimouse while in Japan in 2011.

Biohazard 2 Phone Card Famitsu Secret Clan Version (バイオハザード2テレカファミ通一族の陰謀Ver.) [TC04]
Released: 1998/9
Retail: Not For Sale
Scans: Front

Information:

Title: Last Escape Phone Card (ラストエスケープテレカ) [TC05]
Released:1999
Retail: Not For Sale
Scans: Front

Information:
I'm not actually too sure on the origins of this little phone card, asides from that it wasn't for general sale, so it's likely a commemorative card from when Biohazard 3 came out. It's quite pretty, very shiny thanks to a reflective holographic surface. It also has no holes, thus is completely unused.

Title: CODE:Veronica Phone Card (コード:ベロニカテレカ) [TC06]
Released: 2000
Retail: Not For Sale
Scans: Front

Information:
This phone card was released with the special Red Jacket version of CODE:Veronica, and was given away along with a special metal plaque with Claire's prison ID number on it. No special holos or anything to this one, but the pigment on the valkyrie design is quite beautiful. All it's missing is the 'Let Me Live' Queen tagline from Claire's jacket and it'd be perfect!

Title: CODE:Veronica Phone Card Dreamcast Magazine Version (コード:ベロニカテレカドリムキャストマガジンVer.) [TC07]
Released: 2000
Retail: Not For Sale
Scans: Front

Information:
A giveaway card from Dreamcast Magazine.

Title: CODE:Veronica Phone Card Famitsu Version (コード:ベロニカテレカファミ通バーション) [TC08]
Released: 2000
Retail: Not For Sale
Scans: Front

Information:
This is from 2000, likely released around the same time as the CODE:Veronica was as a commemoration card. This one is actually a Famitsu Exclusive. My card has no holes in it, so it's completely unused, and was a lovely gift given to me by the seller of my Infants Music Box. It's somewhat shiny, with special foil cuts on the design.

Title: CODE:Veronica Phone Card Dreamcast Magazine February Best Version (コード:ベロニカテレカドリムキャストマガジン2月ベストVer.) [TC09]
Released: 2000
Retail: Not For Sale
Scans: Front

Information:
A giveaway card from Dreamcast Magazine. This one seems to be a reissue, with a different logo in the bottom left.

Title: CODE:Veronica Complete Phone Card Famitsu Version (コード:ベロニカ完全版テレカファミ通バーション) [TC10]
Released: 2001
Retail: Not For Sale
Scans: Front

Information:
Much like the 2000 CODE:Veronica card, but for the Complete edition instead. Features both Redfield siblings and has a fantastic embossed foil cut holo which is kind of hard to scan or photograph. It really shows up in the light, though.
